3D Digital X-Ray Technology

3d x-ray

The most popular X-ray unit in the world.

Now with 3D.

With a perfectly designed 3D cylinder volume of 8 cm in diameter and 8 cm in height and a standard resolution of 160 µm, ORTHOPHOS XG 3D is precisely tailored to the everyday routines of private practices: it can capture the patient's whole jaw in a single span. The field of view is large enough to avoid the stitching of several 3D X-ray images and thus multiple exposure to radiation. Yet it is also small enough to be a time-saver in diagnosis.

The other advantage is that when a 3D image is not indicated the unit can be simply programmed to take a single 2D panoramic or cephalometric image with are routinely used in orthodontic diagnosis. This specifically tailors the diagnostic test to the needs of the patient.

The advantages of 3D in patient diagnostics are enhanced ability of the clinician to see the relationship of wisdom teeth to critical nerves and blood vessels, implant planning in multidisciplinary cases for adult patients, making the determination of whether teeth should be extracted based upon the underlying bony architecture and locating impacted teeth in relation to adjacent teeth to ensure the later are not damaged during treatment.
